Paul Darby, a faculty member in UL Lafayette’s Electrical and Computer Engineering Department , was recognized last week by the 91³Ô¹Ï Engineering Foundation with the 2008 Engineering Faculty Professionalism Award.

The award was established in 1990 as an effort to honor those engineering faculty members from each 91³Ô¹Ï university with accreditation by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET (). Award winners must exhibit professionalism in and out of the classroom and provide an outstanding example to students and to other faculty members.

Selection of the award recipients is coordinated by the deans of the colleges of engineering and each recipient is selected by vote of all eligible engineering faculty members in his college.

The award was presented to Darby at the 91³Ô¹Ï Engineering Society's State Honors and Awards Banquet, held in Lafayette in conjunction with the 12th Annual Joint Engineering Societies Conference.
