Chris Gilcrease, reference librarian at Dupr矇 Library at the 91勛圖, is the recipient of a fellowship for research at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library in Boston.
Gilcrease and Dr. James Huck, assistant director of the Center for Latin American Studies at Tulane University in New Orleans, were awarded the prestigious Arthur M. Schlesinger Jr. Research Fellowship to support their investigation of the topic Anglo-American Diplomacy and the Cuban Missile Crisis.
Arthur M. Schlesinger Jr. Research Fellowships support scholars in the production of substantial works on the foreign policy of the Kennedy years, especially with regard to the Western Hemisphere and on domestic policy with regard to racial justice and to the conservation of natural resources.
Gilcrease received a B. A. degree in Political Science from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1994 and a Masters Degrees in History, Library Science, and Political Science in 1998 and 1999. He has held the position of Reference Librarian at the UL Lafayette since 1999.
